What is a Cardiac Rehabilitation and prevention class?  

Cardiac Rehabilitation and prevention is a 1 hour exercise session in a safe environment involving a variety of exercises which are tailored to cardiac rehabilitation. The individual works at their own pace throughout the session which aims to keep the individual active while reducing the risks of any further complications.  

Who is Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention for?   

Cardiac rehabilitation is for those who have had a cardiac event in the past or those who have a higher risk of developing cardiac symptoms. Feel free to bring partners or friends.  

What happens during a session?   

A session starts with a 15 minute warm up to music to gradually increase heart rate. This is followed by an exercise circuit consisting of a variety of cardiovascular and resistance exercises. The session is then finished with a 10 minute cool down to music to gradually reduce heart rate to resting levels. 

How do I sign up?  

Sign up by e-mail, phone or pop by the gym and head to the front desk. If you have had a previous cardiac event be sure to bring your certificate of approval for exercise from either your GP or from an NHS exercise course.
